  • Bring more visitors to your website
  • Increase your company’s visibility online
  • Approach bloggers and other online influencers about your products and services
  • Get your website social media ready
  • Craft a potent social media pitch
  • Incorporate online channels like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter into your marketing programs
  • Avoid campaign killers and online faux pas

Beyond Twitter and Facebook: Investing Memorable Viral Campaigns (Vancouver, April 30 2010)

You're gathering fans and followers on Facebook and Twitter. You've tweaked your site so that it's social media ready. And you've even successfully invited some bloggers to check out your products and services.

What's next? And now that your competitors have jumped on the social media marketing train, how can you continue to differentiate yourself?

This half-day workshop explains the strategies and tactics we use to create buzz online beyond the established social media channels. We'll share the formula we've developed to create original viral campaigns for clients like TckTckTck, Mountain Equipment Co-op and ThoughtFarmer. And we'll brainstorm with attendees about campaigns they can build for their organizations which will help them stand out from the crowd.

Attendees will leave this workshop with:

  • Ideas and a formula for creating viral campaigns.
  • Case studies of successful campaigns from a variety of industries.
  • Best practices for spreading these campaigns through your social media marketing channels.

Social Media Marketing for a Mobile World (Vancouver, May 14 2010)

There are an estimated 4.6 billion cell phones and other mobile devices across the planet. Teenagers send an average of about 100 text messages a day. The iPhone (and, maybe, the iPad) has disrupted what we understood to be a cellular telephone.

This half-day workshop explains how web-savvy marketers can best take advantage of the convergence of our always-connected society and social media. Through case studies, walk-throughs and hands-on demonstrations, we'll help you kick off your social media marketing strategy for the wireless world. We'll also brainstorm about whether your organization should build a mobile application and, if so, what sort of app you might build.

Attendees will leave this workshop with:

  • An understanding of the mobile landscape--who's using what kind of device? Not everyone has an iPhone.
  • Best practices for ensuring that your website is viewable on mobile devices.
  • Strategies on effective SMS or text message-based marketing campaigns.
  • A marketer's checklist for working with mobile application developers.
